Ok...I know that I should wait for Lisa to formally announce and put this info out - but I wanted to ask something. So, that will come in my reply post.

The Studio is proud to bring in the world famous A-Team to Huntsville Alabama from December 7-9, 2007! The A-Team consists of renowned dancers - Alima and Aegela.

Alima and Aegela have been performing for several years, have learned from world renowed teachers, and are in their own rights very respected instructors of the Middle Eastern Dance form. They have won awards for their performances, choreographies, and have been nominated for life-time achievements for their efforts. They will always be highly regarded for their professionalism in dance and teaching. I am so excited that these lovely ladies will grace us with their experience.

Workshop Info
For this special workshop series, Alima will be teaching the morning sessions and Aegela will wear us out in the afternoon sessions. Bring your zils!

Alima is proud to present her "Introduction to Saidi" as her workshop topic. She will incorporate zils with Saidi technique - as well as stress that Saidi is not just cane dancing! On Sunday, though, she will be teaching Saidi technique with cane. Bring canes for the Sunday workshop. Aegela will be teaching her Aegela-isms on Saturday and the Arabic Family on Sunday. The workshop and show will be videotaped and the videotape will be for sale to workshop participants.

Hafla Info
The Student Recital Hafla is open to the public with a $5 cover charge to be collected at the door. Other donations of any kind will be accepted so feel free to bring a dish to share. Alima and Aegela will be performing in the Student Recital Hafla! Come out and see these amazing performers! The Student Recital Hafla will be on Friday, December 7. Doors open at 7:00 pm, with the show to begin at 7:30 pm. The recital is not limited to current students of The Studio - so if you would like to perform, let us know! We would love to offer our students the opportunity to see other dancers as well as giving them the chance for their first performance.

    Ok...so here's my reply...

We don't have any concrete plans for Saturday night besides making sure we take Alima and Aegela out for dinner. The show is Friday night, so there isn't a show scheduled for Saturday night.

Do we have to have a photo shoot hafla Saturday night after dinner? That way we can play dress up, take some pictures, but still gather around and talk, gab, etc without having to prepare for an actual performance.

If it's too much, no problem. I was going to have my camera on me for the workshop anyways. It may be difficult to do a photo shoot hafla if the men are coming to hang out with us - there being less dressing room space. And I know that I won't be able to set up 3 scenes like the last photo shoot hafla. But, it's an idea that I'm throwing out there.

Just let me know what you think!
